This role is part of Alcon's ITCI function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency.

The Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for providing strategic direction for cross-functional process improvement programs to enhance business performance through Lean methodologies. You will own annual objectives for the Continuous Improvement Program, track progress, and mentor Lean Six Sigma Green Belts.

This role is part of the Opex leadership team and leads the team of CI managers responsible for the AGS centers.
 

Job Profile Summary

  • Responsible for driving the cross-functional process improvement program as part of the overall Operational Excellence agenda.
  • Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Own the annual objectives for the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) and track and report progress towards achieving them.
  • Identify opportunities for Lean improvement (Gemba) Events and candidates for Green Belt and Black Belt Training.
  • Work within the organization at all levels to create value and buy-in as the lead change driver.
  • Mentor Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belts through the completion of certification projects.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Must have 10-15+ years of Experience with both people management and lean six sigma operational improvement abilities. Leading the team of the CI Managers in our AGS centers.
  • Lead and deliver cross-functional Operational Excellence initiatives and teams like mentoring and identifying six sigma projects across service, digital, and operational domains.
  • Experience of working in a GCC set up and knowledge of GCC functions - Finance - P2P/O2C/R2R, Quality, HR, IT, Legal, Supply Chain and Global functional areas etc.
  • Manage the Annual Continuous Improvement Program roadmap, ensuring measurable outcomes and business impact.
  • Identify and implement Lean transformation opportunities across all service workflows and customer journeys.
  • Participate & facilitate major Lean improvement events to drive value for Alcon e.g. cost reductions, revenue increases, process efficiencies etc.
  • Facilitate Gemba Walks and Kaizen events to streamline processes, reduce turnaround time, and drive productivity gains.
  • Mentor and develop internal talent toward Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment with monthly and quarterly business reviews and influence leadership to embed sustainable process excellence practices and live the Alcon Simplifeye culture.

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of transformation, digital, and service improvement programs.
  • Apply structured process management methodologies to design, document, optimize, and standardize processes.
  • Establish robust KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive and lead low-cost automation solutions (RPA), workflow tools, analytics dashboards, and AI-driven insights.
  • Proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and drive structured problem-solving approaches.

Service Operations & Governance

  • Strengthen governance frameworks across service operations and ensure consistent execution of process standards.
  • Improve customer experience, service quality, and operational reliability through continuous monitoring and redesign.
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration to deliver seamless, scalable, and efficient services.
  • Contribute to establishing clear process standards, documentation, and performance tracking to ensure consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement

People Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and engage the global AGS CI manager team and the broader Opex team including key stakeholders about Simplifeye and continuous improvements.
  • Build strong capabilities, succession plans, and a performance‑driven culture aligned with Alcon values.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that encourages accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
