Senior Marketing Executive - Sage Journals

JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Senior Marketing Executive - Sage Journals to join our team with a specific focus on promoting Science, Technology, and Medicine (STM) + OA journals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to enhance the visibility of our journals, drive readership, and contribute to the overall success of our publications. The Senior Marketing Executive - Sage Journals will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights, analyze market trends in the academic and scientific community, and create compelling marketing campaigns tailored to the STM and OA markets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Develop comprehensive product marketing strategies specifically for STM and OA journals to drive visibility, citation, and submissions to meet business objectives. This includes creating content for both online and offline channels such as social media, email campaigns, web banners, etc
•Plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns for STM and OA journals, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful go-to-market strategies.
•Conduct in-depth market research within the academic and scientific community to identify target audiences, competitive landscape, and industry trends in the STM publishing sector.
•Collaborate closely with the commissioning, managing and sales to understand the distinctive features, benefits, and scientific significance of each STM and OA journal.
•Create and manage marketing collateral tailored to the STM and OA sector, including promotional materials, and presentations to support editor engagement and library promotions.
•Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to STM and OA journals to measure the success of marketing initiatives and optimize campaigns based on data-driven insights.
•Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective sales enablement tools specific to promoting STM journals.
•Stay abreast of trends in scientific research, OA, academic, and STM journals publishing to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments.
•Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders in the academic and scientific community, including researchers, institutions, and industry partners.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
•BSc or Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or a related field.
•Proven experience in product marketing, with a focus on STM OA publishing or related fields.
•Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights within the STM sector.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
•Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies specifically for STM journals.
•Proficiency in using marketing tools and platforms, with an understanding of digital marketing trends in the academic sector.
•Results-oriented with a track record of driving successful marketing campaigns in STM publishing.
•Familiarity with the nuances of STM publishing, including open-access models and academic research dissemination.
