Job Details: The ideal candidate should be able to manage and control mechanical design activities for Engineered Projects for Air & Gas compressors, dryers, Gas generators, for customised & NPI’s from start to end approach,
Mission
As Senior Mechanical engineer, you take full ownership of Mechanical design, Project Engineering & management for EngineeredSolutions orders. You design product variants based on specific customer specifications/requests and deliver these custom design orders on time in full. You will ensure high quality of design standard of each delivered custom designed product, in addition to customer order you will follow NPI Process & develop products based on new applications & Gases for 1st time built with CtP process as comprehensive manner from start to finish within AGA & OFA

You as a Sr Mechanical Engineer:-
- Contribute to the company’s mission to become the benchmark product company within Atlas Copco Group by ensuring high reliability of the Engineered products with a First Time Right approach
- Take ownership in mechanical engineering front for Engineered (custom design) orders and lead it from request from Customer, till delivery of the product, in comprehensive manner, You coordinate tasks to respect to the set planning.
- work closely with CFT like Sourcing, Planning, Production, Quality, and Aftermarket to implement the existing & new designs in Oil free/Oil injected/ Quality Air products/ CNG/ Compressed Biogas/ CO2/ N2/ Gas treatment, to work as on time in full.
- You will be responsible for Development of new Products (NPI) based on either customer requirement or on master specs, start from concept to product with testing validation & qualification for all range of compressors like Gases & Air application (AGA & OFA)
- You will be responsible to design package in 3D , conducting 3D model design reviews within team & with customer, drawing & BOM release , engg documentation for customer submission & approvals
- Design & development of package & package parts like pressure vessels , coolers, valves, skid, & integration with Electrical & instrumentation (E&I) team,
- You will be responsible to participate in Pre order meetings, Kick off meetings within PC/CC team & with customer (within india & overseas) from mechanical engg discipline.
- You will be responsible to drive modular design & part level standardisation for reusability
- You will be responsible to co-ordinate with EngineeredSolutions global engg teams for effective use of modularity & standardisation of design.
- You design and release solutions for custom designed products, OEM applications and options, should be able to select the bought-out parts.
- Evaluate customer requirement and support to proposal team with technical inputs
- Make sure the design on quality, design for service, delivery, SHE, energy saving and cost.
- Work according to a lesson learned & implement on next projects and believe there is always a better way.
Experience requirements:-
- Total 7-8 years of experience with minimum 2-3 years experience on product design experience in Oil free, Industrial Air and Gas purification divisions; Experience of Oil & Gas dryers & Nitrogen generators sector is added advantage.
- Experience in coordinating other team members in projects and cross functional teams.
- Need good experience in structural design (skid frames), packaging & layouting, codes and standards for pressure vessel, coolers, skids sections, pipings & plant layouts and ancillaries,
- Should be able to understand & analyse results of FEA analysis, wind & seismic analysis, PV lite pressure vessel calculations, HTRI thermal calculations for coolers.
- should be able to design the piping layouts and PMS, Practical experience in 2D and 3D layout designs, Familiar with DFMEA, safety review and related legal requirements.
- Should be familiar with basics & selection of electricals i.e. Motors, Control panels , PLC panels , instruments.
- Should be familiar with sizing & selection of valves (ball valves, butterfly valves, actuated valves etc) & filtrations.
- Understand input and impact other areas (supplier, assembly, customer, …)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
- Shown ability to translate customer requirements into technical requirements and deliver projects on time in full, & sometimes from ideation phase to finished product.
- Conversant with P&I D, PFD, Instrument schedule, I/O’s & interfacing with E&I Part of compressor.
- Should have very good analytical & problem solving skills
- Should possess a good knowledge of manufacturing & qualification processes.
- Should be conversant with Atlas Copco standards, design and drawing methodology.

- University degree, major in mechanical engineering or related area.
- Good command of English (both oral and written)
- Proficient in SAP applications, POLS, Inventor, AutoCAD, Enovia and MS office
- Excellent knowledge of compressor package & its component design with testing & qualification of product and able to select right solution for customer
- Good knowledge of VK, PK, TP, OR, OI, VTO, OOH & Engineering Change management.
