Senior Network Engineer

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Support

• Provide remote support for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network incidents and service requests.
  
• Manage multiple tickets while adhering to SLAs, priorities, and best practices.
  
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  

Firewall & Network Security

• Configure, manage, and upgrade firewalls across platforms such as FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco, SonicWall, Sophos, Check Point, and DrayTek.
  
• Implement and maintain:
  • Security policies and firewall rules
    
  • NAT (SNAT/DNAT) and port forwarding
    
  • VPNs (site-to-site and remote access)
    
• Handle security vulnerabilities (e.g., CVEs) including planning and executing firewall upgrades.
  
• Support network security migrations and implementations in enterprise environments.
  

Switching & Routing

• Configure and troubleshoot enterprise switches including:
  • HP, Aruba, Cisco Core Stack, L2/L3 managed switches
    
• Troubleshoot:
  • VLANs, trunking, and segmentation
    
  • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and loop prevention
    
• Support routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
  
• Perform subnetting and CIDR calculations.
  

Wireless Networking

• Deploy and troubleshoot wireless solutions across platforms such as:
  • Ruckus, HP Aruba, Meraki, Ubiquiti
    
• Diagnose issues related to interference, coverage, authentication, and performance.
  

Network Design & Implementation

• Implement network changes, upgrades, and service recovery activities.
  
• Design and deploy:
  • Segmented networks for multi-tenant environments
    
  • Secure internet access solutions
    
• Configure VLAN trunking and ensure proper propagation.
  
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with protocols like VTP.
  

Advanced Troubleshooting & Analysis

• Perform structured troubleshooting using the OSI model.
  
• Analyze packet flow including:
  • Source/destination MAC and IP behavior
    
  • NAT translations across network paths
    
• Troubleshoot:
  • Application access issues (e.g., firewall blocks)
    
  • Network performance issues (latency, packet loss, slow throughput)
    
  • Intermittent connectivity issues (e.g., VoIP/desk phones)
    
• Conduct interface-level diagnostics (errors, drops, duplex, utilization).
  

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Act as a technical lead during incidents, changes, and service recovery.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
  
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations and procedures.

• HP, Aruba, Cisco Core Stack, L2/L3 Managed Switches
  

Firewalls & Security Tools

• Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, Sophos, Check Point, DrayTek
  
• Meraki (cloud-managed networking)
  

Wireless

• Ruckus, HP Aruba, Meraki, Ubiquiti
  

Core Networking

• TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, Routing (OSPF, BGP)
  
• NAT (SNAT/DNAT), VPNs (IPSec)
  
• QoS and traffic management
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in multi-vendor network environments.
  
• Deep understanding of:
  • Routing & switching concepts
    
  • Network security principles
    
  • Firewall configuration and VPN technologies
    
• Proven experience in:
  • Network troubleshooting (L2–L7)
    
  • Security implementations and migrations
    
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using structured approaches (OSI model).
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  

Educational Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Computer Science or related field
  
• 5–6 years of professional IT experience
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Network Security administration and migrations
  
• Hands-on experience implementing enterprise network security solutions
  
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  

Certifications (Preferred)

• CCNA (completed or in progress)
  
• Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) or equivalent
  
• Additional certifications (Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.) are a plus
