Job Description - Senior Power System Engineer

Elegrow Technology Pvt. Ltd. (ETPL) is a rapidly growing engineering and technology company delivering advanced solutions across power systems, renewable energy, industrial infrastructure, and building management sectors. We execute high -impact projects for clients across India and international markets, helping organizations improve reliability, safety, compliance, and operational performance.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power System Engineer to join our Power Systems team and take ownership of critical engineering studies, technical reporting, client engagement, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Arc Flash Studies

  • Conduct Arc Flash Hazard Analysis in accordance with IEEE 1584:2018 and IEC 61482 standards.
  • Perform system data collection, network modelling, incident energy calculations, arc flash boundary determination, and PPE category assessment.
  • Prepare arc flash labels and comprehensive technical reports.

Protection Device Coordination

  • Develop and validate protection coordination studies for relays, circuit breakers, and fuses.
  • Generate Time -Current Coordination (TCC) curves and relay setting calculations.
  • Prepare ETAP coordination reports suitable for client, consultant, and utility review.

Transient Stability Studies

  • Perform dynamic system modelling and analysis using PSS/E and/or PSCAD.
  • Evaluate voltage stability, frequency response, fault ride -through capability, and generator performance.
  • Support renewable energy integration and independent power producer (IPP) grid connection projects.

Insulation Coordination Studies

  • Conduct insulation coordination studies for HV and EHV systems as per IEC 60071 and relevant standards.
  • Determine LIWV, SIWV, protective margins, and surge arrester requirements.
  • Validate equipment protection levels and insulation performance.

Grid Code Compliance

  • Assess projects for compliance with CEA regulations, IEGC requirements, and utility standards.
  • Prepare technical compliance documentation, interconnection study reports, and commissioning support documents.

Technical Reporting & Client Engagement

  • Prepare, review, and present high -quality engineering reports.
  • Communicate study findings and recommendations to clients, developers, consultants, and utilities.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and professional presentation of all deliverables.

Team Leadership

  • Review and validate study outputs prepared by junior engineers.
  • Guide modelling methodologies, technical approaches, and engineering best practices.
  • Support team development through mentoring and technical knowledge sharing.


Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in power system studies and analysis.

  • Proven experience delivering studies independently for industrial, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in ETAP (mandatory).

  • Working knowledge of PSS/E and/or PSCAD.

  • Experience with Arc Flash, Protection Coordination, Load Flow, Short Circuit, Transient Stability, and Insulation Coordination studies.

  • Strong understanding of IEC, IEEE, CEA, IEGC, and related industry standards.

  • Familiarity with HV/MV electrical systems and utility interconnection requirements.

  • Ability to interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), relay settings, protection philosophies, and technical specifications.

Professional Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem -solving abilities.

  • Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Experience mentoring and reviewing junior engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with renewable energy grid integration studies (solar and wind).

  • Exposure to SCADA systems, relay testing, FAT/SAT activities, or commissioning support.

  • Previous experience working with EPC contractors, utilities, engineering consultants, or renewable energy developers.
