This role offers the opportunity to lead the architecture and development of next-generation enterprise wireless networking solutions.
You will drive innovation across Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 technologies, shaping products used in modern connected environments.

This is a senior technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in wireless protocols, embedded Linux, and enterprise networking.

Accountabilities
As a Senior Principal Engineer – Wireless AP Software Development, you will own the architecture, technical direction, and delivery of advanced wireless access point software solutions. You will work across embedded firmware, networking systems, security, and cloud-managed infrastructure to build scalable enterprise-grade products.
- Define and own the end-to-end software architecture for advanced Wi-Fi access point solutions, from silicon SDK integration to cloud-managed provisioning.
- Lead the design and implementation of next-generation wireless capabilities based on Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 standards.
- Architect and develop advanced wireless features including Wi-Fi Mesh, Neighbor Awareness Networking (NAN), Fine Timing Measurement/location technologies, and enterprise roaming capabilities.
- Collaborate with chipset vendors on SDK integration, firmware customization, platform enablement, and performance optimization.
- Design cloud-managed networking capabilities including zero-touch provisioning, remote configuration, monitoring, and centralized device management.
- Ensure effective integration between AP firmware, security systems, network infrastructure, and cloud management platforms.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering teams through architecture reviews, design guidance, and complex problem-solving.
- Drive improvements in performance, reliability, scalability, and security for enterprise wireless deployments.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives involving automation, analytics, and emerging wireless technologies.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced wireless networking engineer with strong architecture skills and a proven background delivering enterprise-grade embedded systems. You should combine deep technical expertise with the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives.
- Extensive experience developing wireless access point products and enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
- Strong understanding of IEEE 802.11 standards including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and enterprise wireless security protocols such as WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise.
- Hands-on experience implementing wireless features such as Wi-Fi Mesh, NAN, 802.11mc, 802.11az, and seamless roaming technologies including 802.11k/v/r.
- Expert knowledge of Embedded Linux, Linux kernel internals, device drivers, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and system-level debugging.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded networking platforms.
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, and enterprise networking protocols.
- Experience integrating network security capabilities such as firewall systems, intrusion detection/prevention, threat detection, and policy enforcement.
- Proven experience owning architecture decisions and delivering commercial-grade networking products.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with deep packet inspection, malware detection, sandboxing, or software-defined networking technologies.
- Experience with cloud-managed networking platforms, telemetry systems, analytics collection, and DevOps automation.
- Knowledge of RF concepts including DFS, channel optimization, interference mitigation, and wireless performance tuning.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications for wireless analytics, predictive optimization, or anomaly detection.
- Experience working with carrier-grade or large-scale enterprise networking products.
