We are looking for a Senior Producer who will be responsible for an area of output including editorial control, selection and compilation of material, production, leading teams, planning and implementing effective use of resources.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Reporting to the Editor, the Senior Producer is responsible for originating and producing original stories from the ground. The role includes ideation, scripting, editing, outputting, filming content across a range of digital output.
- Commission and select relevant materials ensuring they meet expectations of our audience.
- Ensure all content published on BBC News Tamil website and its social media platforms adhere to the BBC editorial and social media guidelines.
- As required, to allocate work to a team member and check progress; ensure professional contribution of staff and quality of output.
- Giving feedback to the team member about his content, help them ways to improve on day to day basis.
- Seek ways to increase diversity in our workforce and ensure that our output reflects the audiences we serve.
- Have effective coordination with the Planner to ensure the planning process reflects ground reality, producing unique content for BBC News Tamil audience.
- Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within the required timeframe using available resources.
- Ensure all content published in BBC News Tamil website, social media platforms and TV programme are without factual or grammatical errors.
- Monitoring the performance of the platforms and make suitable contribution as and when required on daily basis.
- Monitor developments/Breaking News from the region and worldwide and publish appropriately in time. Also, add value addition and perspective using central and own resources.
- Making an active and valuable contribution during the regular morning meetings and help setting the agenda for the day.
- Making an active and valuable contribution during the weekly ideas meeting for meaningful stories and series ideas keeping the ground realities in mind and also the issues our audience wants us to cover.
- Act as a bridge between team members and Editor to ensure desired results in terms of output and coordination.
- Deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and highest editorial standards.
- At all times, carry out duties in accordance with the organisation’s health and safety policy.
