Senior Research Specialist

You will be responsible for researching and verifying data for ZoomInfo's industry-leading sales intelligence platform as the Research Specialist, reporting to the Team Lead, Research, based in Chennai. You will be in charge of collecting, analyzing, and managing company firmographics and executive contact data, as well as ensuring its accuracy and completeness.

What you’ll do:

Data Research: Conduct thorough research to collect and validate company firmographic data, including details such as company size, industry classification, and location.
Executive Contact Data: Gather and verify executive contact information, including names, titles, emails, and phone numbers, ensuring data accuracy
Data Integrity: Maintain a high level of attention to detail to uphold data quality and consistency standards.
Adhere to standards: Adhere to research protocols, privacy laws and maintain confidentiality to protect operations and ensure customer confidence
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to contribute to the improvement and growth of our sales intelligence database.

What you’ll bring:

A seasoned research professional with 5+ years of experience in organic research, specializing in company and executive profiling. Has successfully contributed as a Subject Matter Expert, Mentor, Quality Coach, and Process Trainer, with strong expertise in data accuracy, quality assurance, team development, and stakeholder collaboration. Demonstrates excellent business acumen, communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and onshore partners to deliver high-quality, insightful outputs.

Core Roles & Responsibilities:

• Organic Research & Profiling:
  Conducted thorough research using LinkedIn, company websites, filings, and other public sources to build accurate company and executive profiles. Specialized in identifying leadership hierarchies, career movements, and company structures.
  
  


• Quality Control & Subject Expertise:
  Led quality assurance efforts, owning review processes and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness in deliverables. Served as a subject matter expert for resolving complex research challenges and maintaining domain standards.
  
  


• Mentoring & Training:
  Mentored team members, provided feedback, and conducted structured training programs. Developed and maintained SOPs, research guidelines, and process documentation to support scalability and improve team productivity.
  
  


• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Worked closely with internal teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and onshore partners to understand business needs and align on deliverables. Acted as a bridge between operations and client-facing teams to ensure research goals were met.
  
  


• Communication & Presentation Skills:
  Known for clear communication, strong interpersonal engagement, and the ability to convey insights effectively through presentations and reports. Regularly interacted with leadership and stakeholders to provide research-driven recommendations.
  
  


• Business Understanding:
  Deep understanding of company classifications (size, ownership, industry, geography), executive levels, and corporate actions like M&A, spin-offs, and restructuring. Applied strong business acumen to connect research findings with broader market trends.

Work experience - Minimum 5+ years of previous experience in a similar role.

Competencies:

1. Should have adequate Business Communication skills (written and oral Business English).


2. Experience working with spreadsheets, and the ability to analyze data tables and draw conclusions
