Role: Senior Reservoir Engineer
Overview
The Senior Reservoir Engineer will support classical and advanced reservoir engineering activities across the full asset lifecycle — from PVT/SCAL data analysis, dynamic simulation, and field development planning to concept evaluation and pilot studies for enhanced recovery processes. The role involves close collaboration with client representatives, service delivery teams, and multi-disciplinary subsurface professionals (geophysicists, geologists, Petrophysicist, geomechanics) to build integrated full field models to drive field development decisions. Experience with thermal and reactive process simulation (e.g., in-situ combustion, coupled multi-physics systems) is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Perform classical reservoir engineering studies, including PVT and fluid modelling, and SCAL data interpretation and validation
Develop, run, and interpret dynamic/numerical simulation models to forecast oil and gas production
Support field development planning, EOR studies, and recovery optimization, including new well locations and enhanced recovery methods
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and other domain PTEs to align on requirements, define solutions, and ensure consistency across subsurface workflows
Consult with relevant subject matter experts to optimize technical design
Model in-situ combustion, heat transfer, and thermal/reactive flow behavior in porous media
Implement coupled workflows incorporating thermal, flow, geomechanical, and chemical interactions, and support scale-up from pilot-scale to full-field development cases
Contribute to scale-up from pilot-scale models to full-field development cases
Location of assignment: Navi Mumbai
Qualifications & Experience details:
Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrable ability in planning, organizing, and executing studies/projects
Strong general understanding of reservoir simulation engineering activities across the full asset lifecycle
10+ years of experience in reservoir simulation, with focus on compositional and thermal processes
Experience with SLB simulators (Eclipse, INTERSECT) and coupled modeling with Visage
Exposure to in-situ combustion, heavy oil recovery, gasification, or similar thermal processes
Understanding of multi-physics coupling (thermal–flow–geomechanics–chemical) is desirable
