Commercial Leader India & Asia / India Service Leader – GE Vernova Hydro
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations – Europe & Asia, you will play a highly strategic role in driving business development and strengthening GE Vernova Hydro’s commercial and service capabilities across India and the broader Asia region.
You will lead all sales, commercial and service activities in the region and act as the primary customer interface for both project and service matters. This includes market mapping, prospection, and development of capture plans to build a strong and sustainable pipeline.
In parallel, you will lead the India Service business, including P&L responsibility, resource management, commercial strategy, offering development, and execution of service projects.
Through these activities, you will directly contribute to the energy transition, supporting the development and modernization of sustainable hydropower infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive market development through focused prospection, market mapping, and structured capture planning
- Develop and execute winning bid strategies to secure profitable and executable orders
- Lead the full ITO process end-to-end:
- Analyze and interpret RFQs
- Actively contribute to risk management
- Prepare decision packages and secure internal approvals
- Review, validate, and consolidate final proposals
- Lead contract negotiations with customers and partners
- Provide support to European CommOps as required
- Contribute to post-bid reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead the India Service business with full P&L accountability (Orders, Sales, Margin, Cash)
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Hydro Service Managers and a cross-functional organization
- Drive key account plans and build a strong services pipeline aligned with overall business strategy
- Ensure effective execution of the services portfolio, with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Oversee day-to-day operations to consistently deliver financial and operational performance targets
Required qualification
- Significant experience of minimum 12 to 15 years in complex sales and large-scale proposal development, ideally in major project environments
- Strong technical and commercial expertise in hydropower or a comparable project-based industrial sector
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline;
- A graduate degree or MBA is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel across Asia for site visits, customer meetings, and conferences
- A structured, analytical, and rigorous mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in an international, matrix organization
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with senior-level stakeholders
- High levels of proactivity, anticipation, and adaptability
- A strong focus on building long-term, trusted customer relationships
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects or programs simultaneously
