The Firm’s International Tax Practice is one of the largest on the West Coast and its well-recognized SEC practice serves approximately 32 public reporting companies, mostly in the technology industry.
Job Overview: BPM is looking for a motivated, self-starter to join their internal finance team. The Senior Staff Accountant will work closely with the Senior Staff Accountant, Accounting Manager, and work across all departments including, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll to help facilitate and maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and posting of recurring and month-end journal entries
- Assistance in month-end closing procedures, including account reconciliation
- Review current processes and offer suggestions for improvement and/or additions
- Oversee Daily Cash and Month End Bank Reconciliation
- Assist in preparation of fiscal and calendar year-end financial reporting
- Maintain Fixed Assets register
- Assist with filing of GST, TDS, PF, PT returns.
- Participate in the month end close by preparing journal entries for cash activities, prepaid expenses, provisions, and expense accrual
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Complete month-end tasks independently
- Investigate and document fluctuations in budget to actual variance analysis
- Develop a complete understanding of BPM’s operations and collaborate closely with other departments in accounting related matters.
- Provide solutions to improve departmental efficiencies
- Implement, maintain, and enforce firm policies
- Keep up with current/upcoming GAAP accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelors in accounting
- Semi Qualified CA/CPA or any other similar degree with minimum 4+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Proficient in Excel and other MS Office Programs
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Positive attitude
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
