Who we are:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and visionary OSS Assurance Software Product Senior Software Designer   to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of our next-generation telecom management solutions within our R&D organization. You will lead a team of high-performing engineers, bridging complex telecommunication standards with modern, cloud-native software engineering.

What you will do :

• Technical Leadership: Own the end-to-end architecture and design of our OSS (Operations Support Systems) assurance product suite (Fault, Performance, and Service Quality Management).

• Team Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and scale a globally distributed R&D team of backend, frontend, and telecom-domain engineers.

• R&D Innovation: Drive the integration of AI/ML for automated root-cause analysis (RCA), predictive fault management, and closed-loop automation.

• Standards Compliance: Ensure product compliance with TM Forum (TMF) Open APIs, O-RAN, and 3GPP standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, DevOps, and Customer Success teams to define the product roadmap and ensure seamless deployments.

What you will bring :

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience:  - 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in the telecom OSS/BSS domain or highly concurrent, real-time enterprise software.

• Technical Stack:

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Python.

  • Experience with distributed streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka or similar).

  • Familiarity with database technologies: NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) and relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

  • Working knowledge of cloud-native environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • OS: RedHat Linux, CentOS Linux, Windows

  • Cloud infrastructure: K8s Vanilla, AWS, Redhat Openshift, Docker

  • Cloud deployment: Helm

  • Database: Cassandra, Kairos DB, CouchDB

  • Collection & Mediation framework: Kafka Stream,Embulk, Telegraf,

  • Source Code Management & Tools : Git, JIRA

• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of telecom management standards and protocols such as SNMP, 3GPP fault/performance models, TMF (TeleManagement Forum) Open APIs, and Netconf/YANG.

• Data Technologies: Hands-on experience with modern data pipelines and processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Flink, Spark) and time-series databases (e.g., Prometheus, TimescaleDB, Cassandra).

• OS: RedHat Linux, CentOS Linux, Windows

• Cloud-native infrastructure: Kubernetes: (vanilla/GKE/EKS/RHOCP). Docker ,mTLS, RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security Standards.

• Cloud deployment: Helm

• Database: Cassandra, Kairos DB, CouchDB, Pinot, Postgres

• Collection & Mediation framework: Kafka Stream,Embulk, Telegraf,

• Observability architecture: metrics (Prometheus, Grafana), logs (Fluentbit, OpenSearch)

• Source Code Management & Tools : Git, JIRA

• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with TM Forum Frameworx (e.g., eTOM, SID) and Open APIs.

• Experience in designing low-latency, real-time event processing and streaming architectures.
