Job Description - Senior Technical Support Engineer, Networking


This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer, Networking based in India.


This role sits at the intersection of advanced networking operations and high-touch customer support in complex, large-scale environments such as data centers, AI, storage, and HPC infrastructure. You will act as a key technical escalation point, owning the resolution of high-impact networking issues while ensuring strong customer satisfaction. The role involves deep collaboration with engineering, support, and cross-functional teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical network challenges. You will also contribute to improving internal support processes and operational efficiency. With exposure to cutting-edge infrastructure and enterprise-grade networking systems, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in high-pressure, technically demanding environments and enjoys solving deeply complex problems. Accountabilities


In this role, you will take ownership of advanced technical support operations and act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex networking issues. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving high-impact incidents across large-scale network environments, ensuring service stability and customer satisfaction. You will engage directly with customers, partners, and internal teams to manage problem resolution, replication, and root cause analysis, while also contributing to solution design for complex deployments.



  • Provide Tier 3 support for installation, configuration, and resolution of advanced network issues across enterprise environments

  • Diagnose and resolve complex routing, switching, and infrastructure problems in data center and HPC networks

  • Handle customer escalations, technical inquiries, and incident management with ownership and urgency

  • Conduct deep problem analysis, replication, and root cause investigations for critical network issues

  • Participate in customer interactions including site visits, calls, and technical discussions

  • Support complex deployments and contribute to end-to-end project execution where required

  • Improve internal processes, documentation, and support workflows to enhance efficiency and quality


Requirements:


This role requires strong hands-on experience in networking technologies combined with proven customer-facing technical support expertise. You should have a deep understanding of routing, switching, and network protocols in large-scale environments, along with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure and communicate effectively with stakeholders.



  • 5+ years of experience in technical support or network engineering roles supporting hardware/software products

  • Strong expertise in IP networking, including L2/L3 protocols and enterprise routing/switching technologies

  • Hands-on experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, PIM, STP, MSTP, MLAG, vPC, VRRP, LACP

  • Experience working in data center environments with technologies like EVPN and VXLAN

  • Linux proficiency with scripting experience for troubleshooting and automation tasks

  • Exposure to network automation tools such as Ansible

  • Experience working with major networking hardware vendors (switches, routers, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills for complex networking issues

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and support high-value customers
