Senior VFX Artist - Contractual Role

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly creative and technically proficient Visual Effects Artist with a strong understanding of game pipelines. You will be responsible for designing and implementing dynamic real-time VFX ranging from environmental and combat effects to vehicle interactions and cinematic sequences while collaborating closely with the Art and Game Design teams.

Responsibilities

· Design and implement high-quality real-time VFX for gameplay, vehicles, weapons, environments, characters and UI elements.

· Create optimized particle systems, shaders, and visual effects within Unreal Engine.

· Collaborate with animators, 3D artists, and game designers to ensure VFX enhance gameplay clarity and immersion.

· Develop cinematic effects and contribute to in-game cutscenes and trailers.

· Troubleshoot, refine, and polish existing effects to meet artistic and technical standards.

· Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a VFX library for reuse and iteration.

· Work within performance and memory constraints and ensure all effects are optimized for real-time rendering.

· Take part in storyboarding and visual development for special sequences and in-game moments.

· Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques in visual effects for games.

· Participate in reviews and incorporate feedback to align with creative direction and gameplay objectives.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree or certification in Animation, VFX, Game Art, or related fields.

· 6+ years of experience in a VFX role, ideally in the gaming industry.

· Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine’s Niagara or Cascade systems.

· Solid experience with tools such as Houdini, After Effects, Photoshop, and Maya/Blender.

· Understanding of shader creation and materials in real-time engines.

· Familiarity with Unity is a plus, though Unreal Engine is preferred.

· Strong grasp of timing, weight, motion, and visual storytelling.

· Experience creating both stylized and realistic effects.

· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

· Strong artistic ability, attention to detail, and visual sensibility.

· Passion for games and a deep understanding of how visual effects enhance gameplay.
