Role Summary


We are seeking a skilled and proactive Field Service Engineer to join our growing technical team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of complex electrical and mechanical systems at client locations. You’ll serve as a trusted technical partner—ensuring system reliability, safety, and optimal performance—while contributing valuable field insights to our R&D and engineering teams. Key Skills & Competencies



  • Technical Expertise: Electrical wiring, control panel assembly & troubleshooting, PLC/HMI programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), interpretation of wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Hands-on Proficiency: Soldering, crimping, cable harnessing, use of test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope)

  • System Knowledge: Preventive maintenance, automation systems, safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E), and industry standards

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving & analytical thinking, clear communication (written & verbal), customer relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration




Role Responsibilities



  • Install, commission, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems at customer premises—ensuring accuracy, safety, and performance compliance.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults in wiring, control panels, and electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation.

  • Interpret and apply wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings to support accurate system setup, modifications, and repairs.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment lifecycle.

  • Assemble and modify control panels, fabricate cable harnesses, and execute precision crimping, soldering, and termination tasks.

  • Maintain strict adherence to company SOPs, OSHA safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, NEC).

  • Deliver on-site customer training and responsive technical support—building confidence and satisfaction through clear, actionable guidance.

  • Prepare comprehensive service reports documenting work performed, root-cause analysis, resolutions, and recommendations for future improvements.

  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and engineering teams to translate field feedback into product and system enhancements.

  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritizing critical site visits based on business impact and safety risk.




Qualifications & Requirements


Required:



  • Diploma or associate/bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in field service, installation, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial electrical/mechanical systems.

  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Experience working with PLCs (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix), HMIs, and basic industrial automation systems.

  • Strong practical skills in panel wiring, cable management, crimping, soldering, and using test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, insulation testers).

  • Familiarity with workplace safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) and internal compliance procedures.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills—essential for engaging with clients, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications such as Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), NETA ATS, or other industry-recognized credentials.

  • Experience with SCADA systems, industrial networking (Modbus, Ethernet/IP), or renewable energy integration (solar, battery storage).

  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) for reviewing or annotating technical drawings.

  • Experience supporting multi-site operations with frequent travel (up to 50–70%, as needed).

  • Proficiency with CMMS or field service management software (e.g., ServiceMax, Field Service Lightning).
