Design, implement, and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate representation of IT assets, configuration items (CIs), and their relationships.
Integrate CMDB with discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM) to ensure automated and up -to -date population of configuration data.
Define and enforce data standards for CI attributes, relationships, naming conventions, and lifecycle states to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Collaborate with ITSM process owners (e.g., Incident, Change, Asset Management) to align CMDB data with service delivery processes.
Conduct regular audits and reconciliation to identify discrepancies between discovered data and the CMDB records.
Manage CI lifecycle, including onboarding, status changes, and retirement, ensuring proper documentation and approval workflows.
Develop CMDB dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to leadership and support teams.
Provide support for audits and compliance initiatives by maintaining historical data and tracking changes to CIs.
Train and support stakeholders on CMDB best practices, usage, and integration with ITSM modules.
Drive improvements in data quality, governance, and automation related to configuration data.
