Job Description - Shift Incharge (Control Room/Panel Officer)

Description

To ensure safe & smooth operations of the Depot, monitoring of alarms/alerts from various sub-systems and ensuring timely actions, coordination with field officers, security, and external support agencies with respect to security, safety, and emergencies during odd hours.



Responsibilities

1. Coordination with Field Officers and External Agencies



  • Coordinate with field officers in Tank Farm, Rail Siding, Gantry, and external agencies such as Railways, State Fire, and Security agencies.

  • Follow up for timely placement and removal of Railway Rakes.

  • Ensure safe decantation of product from Railway Wagons, maintenance activity, and healthiness of F&G system.

  • Manage receipt of product from Railway Wagons, reconciliation, sampling, and release to market.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities and exercise control over work-permit system and interlock integrity.


2. Panel Operations for Tank Farm and Road Gantry



  • Plan receipt and dispatch from tanks in coordination with field officers.

  • Monitor proper line-ups of tanks, pumps, and valves for correct receipts and dispatches.

  • Oversee deliveries to TTs from gantry bays and ensure timely actions for safe and secure truck loading operations.

  • Control exceptions in loading and ensure timely corrective actions.


3. Fire Water System Monitoring



  • Monitor healthiness of FW network to always ensure readiness.

  • Take timely actions to run FW pumps and activate support systems.


4. Record Maintenance



  • Maintain records of product receipts in receipt register.

  • Maintain logbook, trip bypass register, and housekeeping in control room.

  • Track exceptions during road loading (e.g., BCU over-run) and communicate for corrective actions.

  • Keep time records of rake placement, unloading, release, withdrawal, and demurrages.

  • Document all external support system communications during odd hours.


5. Non-Routine Activities and Emergency Handling



  • Conduct ESD & logic checking with field officers and maintenance agencies as per schedule.

  • Perform routine checks of Fire Water System department.

  • Handle onsite emergencies and coordinate with security, state fire, health services, maintenance, operations in-charge, and installation manager.



Qualifications









  1. Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/Science with hands-on experience in handling panel, PLCs, and emergencies.



Experience: Minimum 4 years relevant experience. Total 7-10 Years
