Shopify Lead Engineer

Global Shopify Architecture & Platform Ownership  Own global Shopify architecture, engineering standards, and technical decision-making.  Lead migration to Shopify Online Store 2.0, including Horizon themes, meta objects, and native Shopify capabilities.  Ensure Shopify upgrades and architectural decisions do not block access to new Shopify features or platform innovation.  Drive adoption of Shopify native capabilities to reduce technical debt and long-term maintenance risk. Reusability, Scale & Standardization  Define and maintain reusable global templates, components, configurations, and patterns.  Actively eliminate overstimulation and rationalize third-party apps across markets.  Establish clear criteria for when custom development or third-party tools are justified versus native capabilities. Federated Delivery Enablement  Enable local market teams to build frontend experiences while consuming centrally governed core services.  Define guardrails, governance models, and approval workflows to balance autonomy with consistency.  Balance speedometer vs standardization, ensuring markets can move fast without fragmenting the platform. Integration & Engineering Architecture  Design APIfirst, microservices based commerce integrations aligned to modern composable principles.  Knowledge and experience of MACH principles will be added advantage.  Lead integrations between Shopify, Bloom-reach Engagement, analytics platforms(GA4), and adjacent enterprise systems. Engineering Excellence & DevOps  Establish and enforce CI/CD pipelines, code quality standards, performance benchmarks, and security practices.  Drive consistent engineering practices across internal teams and external partners.  Act as the technical escalation point for complex Shopify, integration, and performance issues. Analytics, Privacy & Compliance  Ensure accurate, scalable implementation of GTM and GA4 for conversion and event tracking.  Ensure GDPRaligned data handling across Shopify integrations.  Work closely with CIAM and Consent Management platforms to ensure compliant identity and tracking flows.  Support cross border data access constraints, particularly EU data residency and processing requirements.
