The ideal candidate should be proficient in mainframe application development and modernization, with hands-on experience in integrating or migrating legacy systems to cloud or hybrid environments.

What will your job look like?

• Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design, development, and support of complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.

• Architect and implement mainframe-to-cloud integrations and assist in legacy modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate with cloud architects and infrastructure teams to define and execute migration or integration strategies involving platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Analyze and optimize the performance of mainframe workloads and propose modernization opportunities.

• Support cloud-native services interfacing with mainframe systems via APIs, MQ, or other middleware.

• Guide junior developers and act as a subject matter expert (SME) for mainframe systems.

• Ensure system stability, high availability, and compliance with security policies.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and participate in architectural reviews.

• Manage stakeholder communication and support delivery of cross-functional IT solutions.

All you need is...

• Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies including:

  • COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM

• Experience in system design, application performance tuning, and debugging in a large-scale enterprise environment.

• Strong understanding of mainframe DevOps tools and automation.

• 2+ years of experience working with or integrating cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Experience in cloud migration of mainframe applications or building hybrid solutions.

• Familiarity with middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, APIs (REST/SOAP), and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).

• Proficient in mainframe utilities (e.g., File-AID, Abend-AID, Endevor, etc.).

• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

All you need is....

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-native development, containers (Docker), or Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of REXX, Assembler, or Easytrieve is a plus.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) in a mainframe or hybrid environment.

  Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist, AWS/Azure certification) are a strong plus
