Software Development Engineer

Summary of the role

In this role you’ll

• Analyze functional and technical specifications to define requirements for new software or enhancements to existing solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain software components using C++ in a Unix/Linux environment, following Amadeus engineering standards.
• Contribute to system design, feasibility studies, and database modeling using relational and NoSQL (non‑relational) databases.
• Support production systems by investigating incidents, implementing code fixes, and performing end‑to‑end testing.
• Collaborate with product partners and team members throughout the development lifecycle, from design to validation and deployment.

About the ideal candidate

• Extensive professional experience in software development, particularly using C++ and Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Experience applying Object‑Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concepts, design patterns, and complex algorithms.
• Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments and contributing to production support and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience working within development teams and mentoring less‑experienced developers.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple technical and business stakeholders.

Additional experience that may be helpful

• Distributed systems and web services such as SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and REST (Representational State Transfer).
• Cloud technologies, Python, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Version control and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
• Exposure to the travel or transportation domain.
