What You’ll Do
- As a Software Engineer, you will help scale our Coupa platforms as we expand and find the right balance between the power of a consolidated codebase and flexibility of microservice.
- You will collaborate with Product and Development teams to build new features and find creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
- You will have the ability to participate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable code and work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life.
What You Will Bring to Coupa
- NLP & ML Engineering: Hands-on 2-4 years of experience with Python, Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, scikit-learn, sentence embeddings, and LLMs. Must be comfortable deploying and fine-tuning LLMs in production environments (preferably with GPU/CUDA experience). Strong understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, vector similarity search, and embedding models. Experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, tool calling, and implementing semantic search pipelines for document processing and retrieval.
• Python Backend Development: Proficient in FastAPI, PostgreSQL, vector databases, and Docker containerization. Ability to build scalable ML microservices that integrate with REST APIs, handle document processing (PDF, DOCX, PPTX).
• Conversational AI & MLOps Foundations: Strong understanding of multi-turn dialogue systems, conversation state management, and agentic architectures (tool use, planning, memory). Knowledge of MLOps best practices including model versioning, experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases), performance monitoring for conversational models, conversational model testing and validation. Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and designing agent-based systems is highly desirable. - Critical thinker with a curious, passionate and growth-oriented mindset
