This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer in Test based in India.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-scaling product environment where quality engineering plays a critical role in delivering seamless user experiences at scale. You will work at the intersection of development and testing, ensuring that complex web, backend, and system-level features are reliable, performant, and production-ready. The role goes beyond traditional QA, combining test automation, engineering, and system thinking to improve overall product quality. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and DevOps stakeholders in a high-ownership environment. The work involves deep system understanding, hands-on automation, and active participation in production stability. It is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, building frameworks, and contributing to engineering excellence in a fast-moving product organization.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies across frontend, backend, and system-level components to ensure product quality and reliability
- Design, write, and maintain automated test cases and frameworks for web and API-based applications
- Build and enhance automation solutions (including booking and end-to-end workflows) using tools such as Selenium and other testing frameworks
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand system architecture, define acceptance criteria, and ensure robust feature validation
- Participate in production monitoring, incident resolution, and on-call support to maintain system stability
- Identify bugs, performance issues, and edge cases while proactively improving overall test coverage
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing into deployment workflows
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or quality engineering across web, backend, or mobile applications
- Strong programming skills with the ability to write clean, modular, and optimized code for automation frameworks
- Experience building or working with automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with tools such as Selenium and exposure to API testing and backend validation
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux environments, and distributed systems (preferred)
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, OOP principles, and software engineering best practices
- Ability to work in ambiguous environments and solve complex technical problems independently
- Strong ownership mindset with a proactive approach to improving QA processes and product quality
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams
