Role Summary

A Soundscaper is responsible for sound design, editing, mixing, and overall creating the aural tone and flow for innovative content developed leveraging an state-of-the-art AI-driven platform. This job reimagines the role of the Sound Designer, Editor, and Mixer and requires experience with sound creation, orchestration, integration, and delivering compelling final audio for GenAI contemporary short form content (Microdramas, Web Series, Creator Content, etc.) that meets quality standards as per JioStar guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Craft the soundscapes: Use standard nonlinear editing tools and AI tools to generate and align dialog, add SFX and tone, source (or create) and integrate music, and deliver a final sound mix on a daily basis, leveraging an understanding of the audio storytelling language of contemporary short-form content.

• Music generation: Familiarity with AI music generation to create tracks that fit the narrative and tone of each project

• AI innovaton: Work with technical teams to help bring more AI capabilities into the audio producton workflow by helping develop policies, guardrails, creation prompts, validation prompts, and agentic architectures that become force multipliers for the entire team.

• Prompt engineering: Develop and refine specific prompts for AI audio generation and editing.

• Familiarity with filmmaking or animation: Understand traditional foundations, principles and procedures of producing filmed entertainment, especially serialized short form content.

• Edit and refine AI-generated content: Conduct human review and editing of AI drafts to enhance quality, resulting in a compelling audio narrative for the audience.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the AI Media Developers to ensure shots being generated are coherent, consistent, and result in a compelling audio narrative.

• Learning Agility: Proven ability to rapidly learn new technologies, platforms, and complex processes. Keep up-to-date with advancements in editorial AI creative tools.

Requirements

• Basic experience in film, TV, or digital video full-stack audio production, with a portfolio showcasing your skills.

• Proficiency in using audio production tools and nonlinear editing tools

• Picture editing experience a plus

• Generative AI content creation experience in audio required, in image and video a plus

• Understanding of content production principles and workflows

• Excellent attention to detail and creativity

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
