The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for electronic systems, aerospace-grade components, and defence-qualified materials. You will lead supplier identification, qualification, negotiation, cost optimization, and risk mitigation initiatives while ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards such as AS9100, MIL-spec, ITAR, and export control regulations.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure seamless procurement aligned with project timelines, cost targets, and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for electronic components, PCB assemblies, embedded systems, aerospace structures, and defence-grade materials
Lead global supplier scouting, evaluation, onboarding, and performance management
Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle including RFQs, contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and long-term agreements
Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and supplier consolidation
Ensure supplier compliance with aerospace and defence regulatory standards
Establish risk mitigation frameworks for geopolitical, supply continuity, and obsolescence challenges
Lead multi-million-dollar procurement budgets and forecast planning
Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams during NPI (New Product Introduction) phases
Strengthen strategic partnerships with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments
Drive localization strategies and indigenous sourcing initiatives where applicable
Required Expertise
Deep knowledge of electronic components (semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, RF modules, avionics systems)
Strong understanding of aerospace-grade materials, precision machining, composites, and defence systems
Familiarity with defence procurement frameworks and compliance standards
Experience managing global supply chains across US, Europe, and Asia
Strong negotiation skills with proven track record in high-value contract closures
Expertise in supplier risk assessment and continuity planning
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), strategic sourcing tools, and cost modeling
Ideal Candidate Profile
15–25 years of progressive experience in sourcing/procurement within electronics, aerospace, or defence manufacturing
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics/Mechanical/Aerospace) or Supply Chain Management
Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional and cross-border teams
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Demonstrated success in complex, regulated environments
High level of integrity and compliance awareness
