Job Description - Special Educator

Assessment & Planning:

Evaluate students to identify learning challenges and strengths. Develop IEPs tailored to each student's unique needs and regularly update them based on progress.

Instruction & Support:

Provide personalized instruction using specialized strategies and tools. Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to suit varying learning abilities.

Collaboration:

Partner with general educators, therapists, psychologists, and families to coordinate support services and promote student inclusion in mainstream classrooms.

Classroom & Behavior Management:

Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment. Apply behavior management techniques and encourage positive social interactions.

Monitoring & Documentation:

Track student progress through regular assessments and maintain accurate records of goals, outcomes, and communications with stakeholders.

Professional Development:

Stay updated with best practices and legal requirements in special education. Participate in workshops and training sessions as required.

Requirements

Strong skills in IEP development and individualized instruction
Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
Effective communication with children, parents, and professionals
Classroom management and behavioral intervention techniques
Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools
Strong organizational and documentation skills
