You\u2019ll meet statutory rThe Senior Accountant is a key member of the Global Payments Reconciliation team, responsible for the preparation, analysis, and resolution of general ledger account reconciliations across multiple PayPal-owned products. Operating within a high-volume environment processing over $1.7 trillion in annual payment volume across 200+ banking partners, the Senior Accountant will leverage PayPal\u2019s financial systems (PFIT/SAP HANA) to perform three-way reconciliation matching (PDA/SDA/Cash), analyze reconciling differences across multiple dimensions, conduct root cause analysis, and assess financial statement impact. \nThis role also contributes to new product launches, process automation initiatives, and the team\u2019s ongoing AI-enabled transformation of reconciliation operations.\n\nJob Description:\n\nEssential Responsibilities: \n\n * Initiate accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP\n * Monitor the accounting closing process and post journal entries for any required adjustments in the local ledger\n * Support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations\n * Drive process control rigor to support quarterly certification on financials\n * Implement monthly financial reports and analytics to support structured risk-based monthly financial reviews\n * Implement statutory financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory audits\n * Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities\n * Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor\u2019s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n\n\nAdditional Responsibilities \u0026 Preferred Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification.\n\n\u2022 Experience with SAP HANA, SQL, or other database query tools.\n\n\u2022 Prior experience in high-volume payments reconciliation or transaction processing environments.\n\n\u2022 Familiarity with multi-currency, multi-entity reconciliation across global banking partners.\n\n\u2022 Demonstrated interest in process automation, AI/ML tools, or data analytics applied to accounting workflows.\n\n\u2022 Experience with Jira or similar workflow management tools for tracking reconciliation items and issues.\n\nSubsidiary:\n\nPayPal\n\nTravel Percent:\n\n0\n\nPayPal does not charge candidates any fees for courses, applications, resume reviews, interviews, background checks, or onboarding.
