The SAP ABAP Sr  Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, and delivering complex SAP technical solutions aligned with business needs, SAP Clean Core principles, and S/4HANA best practices.

This position is part of the SAP Technical Team located in Pune and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design and deliver complex ABAP solutions on SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with SAP Best Practices and Clean Core principles.
• Lead ABAP development activities including ABAP Objects, OO design patterns, CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL, RAP, and OData Services.
• Design and implement side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP using ABAP Environment, RAP, CDS Views, OData, Events, and released APIs.
• Build scalable integrations with S/4HANA using APIs, Events, and extensibility options while minimizing core modifications.
• Refactor and modernize classic ABAP programs to S/4HANA-compliant and cloud-ready architectures.
• Support SAP Clean Core strategy through custom code remediation, adaptation, and use of released APIs and extensibility frameworks.
• Apply governance practices including Code Review Checklists, ATC checks, cloud readiness checks, security standards, and authorization controls.
• Use SAP Joule and AI-assisted development capabilities for code generation, code refinement, technical analysis, documentation, and productivity improvement.
• Collaborate with Functional, Basis, Security, Integration, and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical designs.
• Support technical design, estimation, solution walkthroughs, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
• Mentor junior developers and guide teams on Clean Core, S/4HANA modernization, SAP BTP adoption, and development standards.
• Maintain strong technical documentation and ensure adherence to quality, compliance, and delivery expectations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including significant experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience or applied exposure to SAP BTP ABAP Environment, side-by-side extensibility, released APIs, Events, and cloud-ready development practices.
• Experience with SAP Clean Core strategy, custom code remediation, ATC, CVA, SPAU/SPDD awareness, and S/4HANA technical migration or modernization.
• Strong experience in ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL, RAP, OData Services, BAdIs, and enhancement frameworks.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• SAP certifications in ABAP on HANA, SAP S/4HANA development, or SAP BTP.
• Hands-on or applied exposure to SAP Joule for AI-assisted ABAP development, code understanding, documentation, and developer productivity.
• Experience mentoring technical teams and establishing ABAP development governance, coding standards, and review practices.
