You will be leading a engineering and software delivery projects focused on cloud and data transformation areas working closely with internal stakeholders , clients and external vendors. 

The Engineering Lead (EL) will be reporting to the Solution Architect, Director role in the VMS team. The EL will be leading a team of  software engineers , QA analysts from vendors and manage the technical delivery and quality of your teams work . You will also manage estimation, timelines for delivery and other management commitment as required to deliver initiatives.

You will be working alongside versatile and experienced engineers improving the overall data engineering quality of deliverables. This includes the following contributions: 

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.  Work alongside  smart QA engineers, who build and maintain a vast collection of automated testing scenarios.

Job Duties

• Lead all development activities to align with project goals and timelines.

• Provide inputs to management for development related activities

• Manage multiple stakeholders across technology areas internally and externally

• Review test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

• Raise risks or concerns related to code quality and delivery delays.

• Understand defects, including code, data, and environment issues, in detail.

• Mentor and guide team members by providing technical guidance and support.

• Conduct thorough Technical & Functional code reviews to maintain quality standards.

• Exceptional structure and attention to detail and provide solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Basic Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical related field or

relevant commercial experience

•8+ years of total experience with minimum 2 years as tech lead or engineering

manager

•Experience working with agile process and principles.

•PySpark or equivalent hands on experience

•Software Release Management and deployment experience

•Working knowledge of J2EE framework, REST,API framework

•Experience designing event based and streaming solutions using Kafka will be

valued. 

•Strong SQL knowledge, ability to understand and write complex queries.

•Working in a DevOps environment, or passion and willingness to work in this

way.

•Proven delivery of well-tested, scalable, fault-tolerant and performant solutions.

•Having worked in a collaborative environment where you are comfortable

reviewing code of your peers.



Preferred Qualifications:

•Proven expertise in Spark, with a strong preference for Py-Spark, to handle

large-scale data processing tasks efficiently.

•Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure,

demonstrating the ability to design, implement, and manage cloud-based data

solutions.

•In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Azure data services such as

Azure Synapse Analytics, Event Hub, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory

(ADF).

•Strong background in designing and implementing dimensional models for

data warehousing and analytics.

•Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 methodology for modeling, ETL, and data

warehousing, showcasing the ability to work within a hybrid data architecture.

•Exceptional analytical skills to solve complex data problems and provide

innovative solutions.

•Preferred experience with DevOps practices and Continuous

Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure streamlined

and automated deployment processes.

•Certifications such as DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure and

Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark or equivalent.

•Genuinely interested in intersection of cloud , technology and payments

domain. Desire to become a subject matter expert.

•Passionate about growing others while growing yourself. An interest for

continuous improvement and helping engineers to understand the big picture.

•Pragmatism in decision making and ability to get buy-in for ideas and getting

them done.

•Comfortable working with external providers and senior internal stakeholders.
