Sr Data Engineer (Snowflake, DBT)

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines using Snowflake as the core data warehouse and dbt for transformation logic.


• Implement data modeling best practices (star schema, Kimball, Data Vault) and ensure pipeline quality with unit/integration tests.


• Orchestrate workflows via Airflow or similar tools to automate ingestion, transformation, and validation processes.


• Collaborate with analytics engineers and data scientists to define business logic, metrics, and data contracts.


• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and enforce data lineage and governance standards.


• Document data models, pipeline architecture, and deployment runbooks to ensure team scalability and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Snowflake


• dbt (data build tool)


• SQL (complex queries, CTEs, window functions)


• Python (for scripting, automation, and UDFs)


• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)


• Airflow or Prefect


• CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)


• Data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling)

Preferred

• Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code


• Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Grafana)


• Exposure to data governance frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo)
