This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Engineer, R&D Software Engineering based in India.
This role sits at the core of building and evolving enterprise-grade software products that support critical clinical research and data-driven healthcare innovation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust applications while contributing to architectural decisions and engineering best practices within a highly collaborative R&D environment. The position blends hands-on development with technical leadership, requiring you to work across teams to understand system dependencies and ensure scalable, high-quality solutions. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and strengthening development standards across the organization. Working in an Agile setup, you will contribute to iterative delivery cycles while ensuring strong documentation and maintainability of systems. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for enterprise R&D products using C# (.NET) and Angular (10+) with a strong focus on frontend development
- Build and maintain backend and database components using SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL to ensure scalable and reliable data handling
- Contribute to system architecture discussions, technical design decisions, and implementation of engineering best practices
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support iterative development and delivery cycles
- Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards and promoting engineering excellence across the team
- Create and maintain technical documentation to support development, deployment, and system understanding
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies, assess design impacts, and communicate technical changes effectively
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and development
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and engineering standards
- Apply domain understanding where relevant, particularly in regulated or clinical software environments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience in application development
- Strong hands-on experience with C# (.NET 3.0+) and Angular (10+), with advanced proficiency in Angular
- Solid experience working with SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL databases
- Proficiency with development tools such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative delivery models
- Experience producing technical documentation and participating in system design discussions
- Ability to perform code reviews and mentor junior developers effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and software quality
- Ability to work in or from India in a remote, hybrid, or onsite setup as required
