The role-Sr. Executive-Primary Transportation
What you'll be responsible for
Transportation Planning & Execution
Ensure timely placement of vehicles for stock movement from factories to depots.
Coordinate daily with factories, depots, and transporters to execute dispatch plans.
Monitor vehicle turnaround time, dispatch adherence, and depot replenishment timelines.
Ensure uninterrupted stock flow during peak season to avoid stock-outs and business disruption.
Manage contingency planning for vehicle shortages, route disruptions, and operational escalations.
Transporter Management
Act as the single point of contact for all primary transportation partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with transporters to ensure reliable vehicle availability during peak season.
Track transporter performance against agreed SLAs including placement adherence, turnaround time, claim management, and service quality.
Support transporter onboarding, negotiations, and operational issue resolution.
Cost & Budget Management
*Own and manage the primary transportation budget for the ice cream business.
Monitor freight costs, lane-wise spends, utilization metrics, and cost trends.
Provide PO and create month on month provisioning for all services taken
Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising service levels.
Ensure accurate freight validation, controls, and compliance with approved budgets.
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate closely with factory teams, depot operations, planning, procurement, finance, and sales teams.
Ensure alignment between dispatch plans and depot requirements.
Provide regular operational updates and escalation support during peak season.
Reporting & Governance
Publish transportation performance dashboards and MIS reports.
Track key KPIs such as:
Vehicle placement adherence

Dispatch service levels
Cost per Ton
Dedicated vehicle attendance
Transporter Performance
Drive governance reviews with transporters and internal stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who
Experience
4–8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
Experience in FMCG, cold chain, frozen foods, or seasonal distribution businesses preferred.
Exposure to primary transportation and transporter management is essential.

Skills Required
Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage high-pressure operations during seasonal peaks.
Strong analytical and cost management capability.
Good understanding of transportation operations and network planning.
Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and transportation MIS/reporting.
Strong problem-solving and escalation management skills.
