The Electrical Manager - Projects will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing a team of electrical engineers, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and electrical standards

Responsibilities / Job Summary

1. Project Management:- Lead and manage multiple electrical projects from conception through to completion.

   - Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

   - Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful   

     completion.

2. Team Leadership: - Supervise and provide guidance to a team of electrical engineers and technicians.

   - Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring team members are utilized effectively.

   - Mentor and train team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

3. Technical Oversight: - Review and approve electrical designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and comply with industry standards.

   - Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.

   - Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

4. Coordination and Communication:  - Coordinate with other departments (e.g., civil, mechanical, procurement) to ensure project integration.

   - Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all project stakeholders are

    aligned.

   - Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.

5. Quality and Compliance: - Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

   - Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety

     protocols.

   - Implement and monitor quality assurance processes throughout the project

     lifecycle.

6. Budget and Cost Control:  - Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

   - Approve purchases of electrical materials and equipment within budgetary constraints.

   - Prepare cost estimates and provide financial reports to management.

7. Health and Safety:  - Ensure that all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.

   - Promote a culture of safety within the team and across all project sites.

   - Investigate and report any incidents or near-misses, implementing corrective

    actions as necessary.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements (Abilities / Knowledge & Expertise in field)

Skills & Competencies (Technical / Functional)

Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP), and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are preferred.

Experience: 15+ years of experience in electrical project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Specific Requirement (if any)

Certifications: possession of Professional Engineer (PE) license and/ or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage

This role may require regular visits to construction sites and could involve exposure to various environmental conditions. Some travel may be required to manage projects at different locations.
