Job Description

Responsibilities 

Organizational Leadership 

• Lead, develop, and scale a software engineering team at IEC for MSD division
• Build a strong leadership bench through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning  
• Own hiring strategy, performance management, and capability development  

Engineering Execution 

• Ensure delivery of high-quality software within agreed scope, timelines, and budget  
• Drive improvements in engineering practices, including test automation, CI/CD, and system reliability  
• Partner with product and program leadership on planning, estimation, and prioritization  

Strategy & Cross-Site Leadership 

• Align engineering strategy, tooling, and ways of working across global R&D sites  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of modern engineering practices  
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align engineering investments with business goals  

External & Innovation 

• Manage relationships with key technology partners and suppliers  
• Foster innovation through IP generation and engineering-driven initiatives 

Education and Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field  
• 15+ years of Extensive experience in software engineering, including leadership of large, distributed teams, and including managing people managers. 
• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams  
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and delivery models  
• Experience working in cross-functional, global environments  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries
