Job Description - Sr. Rebar Detailer

Black & Grey HR is partnering with a leading contracting and construction company based in the UAE to recruit a highly skilled Senior Rebar Detailer who will lead the preparation and coordination of reinforcement detailing for complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in reinforcement detailing, strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete structures, and the ability to oversee detailing quality while mentoring junior team members. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, project, and site teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and constructible reinforcement solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the preparation of detailed reinforcement shop drawings for reinforced concrete structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

- Interpret structural and engineering drawings to develop comprehensive reinforcement detailing for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and other structural elements.

- Prepare and review Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), ensuring precise quantities, dimensions, and fabrication details.

- Coordinate with structural engineers, project managers, site engineers, fabricators, and contractors to resolve technical queries and detailing challenges.

- Review and approve reinforcement detailing completed by junior detailers, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

- Identify and resolve reinforcement clashes and constructability issues before project execution using relevant detailing software.

- Revise drawings and detailing packages based on engineering changes, RFIs, site feedback, and client comments.

- Ensure all reinforcement detailing complies with applicable standards such as ACI, BS, Eurocode, and IS Codes.

- Optimize reinforcement layouts to improve constructability, minimize material wastage, and support cost-effective execution.

- Assist procurement and planning teams with reinforcement quantity take-offs and material planning.

- Maintain accurate documentation of revisions, approvals, and project records.

- Mentor and support junior detailers by providing technical guidance and conducting quality reviews.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.

- 5â10+ years of experience in rebar detailing within contracting, engineering consultancy, or steel fabrication companies.

- Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD.

- Strong hands-on experience with rebar detailing software such as Tekla Structures, Revit Structure, CADS RC, ASD, or RebarCAD.

- In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, structural drawings, and reinforcement detailing practices.

- Strong expertise in preparing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), reinforcement quantity estimation, and cut-length calculations.

- Sound understanding of international design standards including ACI, BS, Eurocode, and IS Codes.

- Experience in clash detection, drawing coordination, and constructability reviews.

- Proven ability to lead detailing activities, review technical deliverables, and mentor junior team members.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within project deadlines.
