Sr. Staff SW QA Engineer - VMWare

Description

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure required, and having certifications on the working domain.
• Working experience of bringing-up VMware virtualized setup from bare metal and managing the same. VMware certification is a plus.
• Good understanding of Unix fundamentals, storage, networking and load balancing.
• Knowledge and ideas on how to build infrastructure, support & monitor and bring in efficiency in every possible way.

• Proficient in controlling administrator rights on VM Infrastructure, Use of VMware Converter Enterprise and overview.
• Ability to setup of resource pools and a VMware Distributed Resources Scheduler (DRS) cluster, Resource Management, Resource Monitoring along with VMware High Availability (HA) cluster
• Proven experience in ESX Server Installation and configuration of virtual switches, network connections and port groups configure Storag
• Expertise in Virtual Centre Installation and configuration and Installation of its components

• Developing, maintaining, and supporting networks in NSX/NSX-T
• Implementing networking and VXLAN technologies
• Monitoring the automation of network deployment and configuration, along with the integration of infrastructure (computer/storage) automation
• Configuring and monitoring network security layer
• Experience supporting enterprise-class monitoring with monitoring tools for network/systems/application monitoring, ability to write custom scripts/plugins for custom monitoring a plus.
• Proficient in scripting ESX Server deployments for remote installation and security in a VMware Virtualized Environment
• Ability to interface/support Engineering team  during the development/pre-production integration testing
• Strong technical/analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels. Ability to create simple procedural documents.
• Good team player, self-starter, goal oriented, open minded, flexible and customer focused
• Good problem-solving abilities focus on quality & Self-directed work style with minimum supervision.
• Ability to coordinate and work with a global team in different time zones.

• Experience interfacing with Linux container environments such as Kubernetes , Tanzu is a plus
