Divisional Overview:

Powai Information security division is an integral part of Nomura where mostly support functions are delivered out of this entity. We mainly support Nomura wholesale business.

Business Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our Information Security team within the Automation & AI function. This role combines Python development expertise with modern AI application development to drive intelligent automation initiatives across our security operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience building web applications, APIs, and AI-powered solutions, and security orchestration playbooks while maintaining a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles. You will work at the intersection of security, automation, and AI to transform how our organization approaches information security challenges.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop production-ready AI applications using Python and modern LLM frameworks (Claude, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI APIs)


• Optimize prompt engineering strategies for security-specific use cases


• Design, develop, and maintain security orchestration playbooks for automated incident response and threat mitigation


• Continuously optimize and refine playbooks based on operational feedback and emerging threats


• Develop full-stack web applications using React for frontend and Flask API for backend


• Design and implement RESTful APIs to integrate AI capabilities with existing security tools and orchestration platforms


• Integrate orchestration solutions with SIEM, SOAR, and other security infrastructure


• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git and modern DevOps practices


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security analysts, SOC engineers, and business stakeholders


• Stay current with emerging trends in AI, automation, security orchestration, and cybersecurity technologies

Mandatory Skill Set :

• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles

            Foundational understanding of information security concepts, principles, and best practices

• Programming Languages: Python


• API Development: RESTful API design, authentication, and integration patterns


• Web Frameworks: React (frontend), Flask or FastAPI (backend)


• AI/LLM Tools: Experience with Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, or comparable LLM platforms; familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks


• Vector Databases: FAISS, or similar solutions

Desired Skill Set :

• Familiarity with common security frameworks, threats, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns


• Knowledge of security operations workflows including incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management


• Awareness of data privacy, compliance requirements, and security orchestration concepts


• Version Control: Git and collaborative development workflows
