ID:\n\nJR96875 Staff Layout Engineer \u2013 DPG Layout\n\nOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.\n\nMicron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.\n\nRole and Responsibilities\n\n * Own the development and physical implementation of critical analog, mixed\u2011signal, and custom digital blocks, including block\u2011level and full\u2011chip layout ownership.\n * Lead layout implementation using AI\u2011assisted and automated workflows, applying copilot\u2011based assistants, agentic AI flows, and rule\u2011aware automation to accelerate placement, routing and optimization.\n * Perform and automate layout verification activities, including DRC, LVS, Antenna, Yield, ESD, TOTEM, EM/IR and quality checks.\n\n\n * Drive on\u2011time delivery of blocks and partition\u2011level layouts with predictable quality and risk prediction/mitigation plans.\n * Develop and deploy AI\u2011enabled methodologies for Semi-automated floorplanning, parasitic estimation, layout consistency checks and best\u2011practice enforcement, repetitive layout task elimination via SKILL, Python, TCL or agent\u2011based flows.\n * Demonstrate technical leadership in planning, area and cycle\u2011time estimation, delegation and execution.\n * Guide and mentor engineers in Analog layout fundamentals, Automation\u2011first approach, Design\u2011for\u2011quality and design\u2011for\u2011yield practices\n * Collaborate closely with Design, CAD, Verification, Reliability, and Program Management teams, clearly communicating technical risks, schedule impacts and any optimization opportunities.\n * Drive continuous improvement by identifying manual bottlenecks and converting them into scalable automated flows.\n\n\n\nJob Requirements\n\n * 6+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS technology nodes.\n * Strong expertise in Cadence Virtuoso (VLE/VXL) and Calibre DRC/LVS, with hands\u2011on ownership of verification closure.\n * Proven experience in layout of critical analog blocks, including but not limited to Temperature sensors, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, LDOs, bandgaps, reference generators, Charge pumps, etc\n * Hands\u2011on experience with memory layouts, including DRAM, SRAM, CAM, OTP and understanding of array\u2011to\u2011periphery integration.\n * Deep understanding of analog layout fundamentals, including Matching and symmetry, EM, latch\u2011up, coupling, crosstalk, IR\u2011drop, shielding, guard\u2011ring strategies, parasitic effects.\n * Strong ability to interpret design intent and constraints and translate them into high\u2011quality, manufacturable layouts.\n * Proven expertise in defining, developing, and scaling AI\u2011driven automation and AI\u2011assisted methodologies for complex layout workflows.\n * Demonstrated problem\u2011solving skills in physical verification, debug, and layout optimization dedicated to improving yield.\n\n\n\nEducation\n\n * B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics \u0026 Communication, or VLSI Engineering\n * M.Tech in VLSI Design, Microelectronics, or Electronics Engineering\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSemiconductor Design Engineer 4\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
