You\u0027ll collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver impactful solutions. \n\n * Strong analytical skills to analyze requirements and transform into scalable software designs. \n * Strong advocate of code craftsmanship, good coding standards and use of tools that will improve the quality of the delivered code \n * Define and execute the backend technology strategy. \n * Drive innovation and experimentation. \n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes \n\n\n\nWhat do you need to bring:\n\n * 8+ years of backend development experience and a bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or related field. \n * Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java) \n * Expert in back-end development using Java EE technologies (e.g. Java language, application servers, servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring MVC, Hibernate) \n * Leadership in designing and architecting scalable backend systems with a focus on cloud-native solutions, microservices, and serverless architectures. \n * Expertise in architecting and developing large-scale backend systems using Java EE, with extensive experience in Spring MVC or Hibernate. \n * Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, drive technical roadmaps, and ensure alignment with business objectives. \n * Expertise in designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery. \n * Experience with advanced security practices, including secure coding, encryption, and access control. \n * Proven ability to influence and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. \n * Deep expertise in backend technologies and architecture. \n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with using Agile/Scrum methodology for software development \n * Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems. \n * Knowledge of the payment processing industry and relevant regulations. \n * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). \n * Contributions to open-source projects. \n * Payment systems experience is a plus! \n\n\n\nSubsidiary:\n\nPayPal\n\nTravel Percent:\n\n0\n\nPayPal does not charge candidates any fees for courses, applications, resume reviews, interviews, background checks, or onboarding.
