Staff software Engineer (Test Automation expertise)

We are seeking a Staff QA Engineer to join our Broadband and Network group

Location-Bangalore (Hybrid)

In this role, you will be responsible for testing cloud-native microservices that seamlessly integrate complex embedded CMTS systems with balanced focus on designing, developing, and executing scalable automated test solutions with AI centric approach

 The position requires strong expertise in DOCSIS/CMTS technologies, distributed architectures, test automation frameworks, and hands-on troubleshooting skills across both microservices and embedded platforms.

You will play a key role in building scalable automation frameworks, improving test coverage, enabling CI/CD quality gates, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and resiliency of next-generation broadband access solutions.

How You’ll Help us Connect the World:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for microservices and CMTS embedded platforms.


• Build automated test suites covering functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, resiliency, and scale testing.


• Automate validation of APIs, Kubernetes-based services, telemetry, and embedded system interactions.


• Develop reusable test tools, simulators, mock services, and infrastructure to improve automation efficiency.


• Analyze logs, packet captures, telemetry data, and system metrics to identify root causes and validate fixes.


• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to improve product quality and testability.


•  Drive automation strategy, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the QA organization.


• Mentor engineers on automation frameworks, coding standards, and quality engineering methodologies

• Define test strategies/test plans, and validation approaches for cloud-native microservices, CMTS/DOCSIS platforms, and embedded devices


• Create and maintain detailed test cases covering functional, integration, system, resiliency, scalability, performance, and end-to-end workflows.


• Execute end-to-end, integration, regression, interoperability, and system-level test suites.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with 8+ years in QA, or software engineering


•  Testing of an Embedded System (HW/SW) with Microservices.


• Exposure to AI-assisted test automation and quality engineering practices.


• Experience in QA methodologies, Strong experience in test automation development using Python, PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar technologies.


• Expertise in DOCSIS/CMTS and broadband access network technologies.


• Experience testing cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, gRPC services, Kubernetes, and Docker-based deployments.


• Strong programming and scripting skills with a focus on automation framework development.


• Experience with Linux, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP), and distributed systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software, networking, and embedded domain

You will Excite us if you have:

• Experience with large-scale automation, performance, soak, and resiliency testing.


• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.


• Experience developing simulators, test harnesses, and automated validation environments.


• Knowledge of virtualization, cloud platforms, and broadband technologies such as RPD, vCCAP, and telemetry services.
