Job Description - Staff System Engineer

ID:\n\nJR91723 Staff System Engineer\n\nOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.\n\nMicron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.\n\n### Core Responsibilities\n\n * Architect, implement, and support enterprise storage and backup solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.\n * Partner with business units, architects, and service providers to gather requirements and deliver scalable, resilient solutions.\n * Lead technology evaluation, vendor selection, and solution integration initiatives.\n * Standardize system configurations, operational practices, and documentation.\n * Execute changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities in compliance with change management processes.\n * Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to team members.\n * Serve as an escalation point for complex storage and backup incidents; perform root cause analysis and problem management.\n * Monitor performance, capacity, and operational metrics; drive continuous service improvements.\n * Plan and execute technology refresh, capacity expansion, and system enhancements.\n * Support and administer enterprise SAN, NAS, and backup platforms.\n * Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, documentation, and DR drills.\n * Ensure compliance with organizational security, operational, and governance standards.\n * Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership.\n * Provide 24x7 on-call support and participate in shift-based operations as required\n\n\n\n### \n\nRequirement:\n\n * 10+ years managing and supporting enterprise-scale storage and backup infrastructures in complex, global environments.\n * Storage Platforms: NetApp clustered NAS/SAN (SnapMirror, SnapVault, MetroCluster), Dell VMAX/PowerMax, Pure Storage, Data Domain, Isilon, Nutanix (preferred).\n * Cloud Storage: NetApp FSx, CVO, CVS, ANF across AWS, Azure, and GCP.\n * Backup \u0026 Data Protection: IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM), Cohesity.\n * SAN \u0026 Networking: Cisco SAN switches, VSANs, Fibre Channel zoning, LUN masking, HBA configuration and tuning.\n * Protocols \u0026 Architecture: NFS, iSCSI, storage networking, data center architecture.\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nSystem Manager E4\n\nRelocation level: (TBD)\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
