About role: 

This role is responsible to lead implementation of RF’s DRR programs at State level. The position will also support preparedness activities in State and monitor emergency alerts and provide initial support to disaster response team in relief interventions.

Roles & Responsibility

• Lead implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and disaster preparedness interventions in State with focus on targeted project districts.
• Build capacities of NGOs, CBOs, Youths and other key stakeholders on Disaster preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction
• Carry out disaster risk assessment Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
• Conduct trainings for community / stakeholder in Disaster preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction
• Coordination with grassroots / community stakeholders for effective implementation of disaster preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction interventions.
• Lead capacity development initiatives for established community networks and early warning volunteers.
• Build partnerships with various stakeholders for effective implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction
• Monitor emergency alerts, and support disaster response programs.

Key Stakeholder & Collaborator: NGOs, CBOs, Youths, Disaster affected communities, Local Government bodies, SDMA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Include Additional Certification Required if any

Necessary:

• Graduation / Post Graduation in Disaster Management / Climate Change /
• Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management
• Minimum 3 years of experience of working with Disaster Management Sector

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Fair knowledge on development of
• community based Disaster Risk Reduction / Mitigation plan
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural
• environment
• Exposure to community mobilization and social development linked to health and
• disaster preparedness programs
• Experience in training and use of
• participatory methodologies
• Experience of working in both emergencies and developmental context
• Experience in conduct base line survey and Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
• Fluency in English, report preparation and presentation skills are essential
• Experience in connect communities and emergency support providers
