An exciting opportunity for a seasoned Company Secretary (CS) to lead and anchor the statutory and regulatory compliance function for a large, diversified conglomerate with multi-sector operations. This role is best suited for someone who can independently manage complex compliance frameworks, partner with senior leadership, and ensure 100% adherence to laws and regulatory requirements across multiple business verticals.


Responsibilities:



  • Statutory & Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on all applicable central, state, and sectoral laws; track amendments, circulars, and new regulatory developments.

  • Compliance Management & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive compliance registers, trackers, and documentation across company law, labour, industrial, environmental, and sector-specific statutes.

  • Filings & Regulatory Submissions: Oversee timely and accurate filings with MCA/ROC, SEBI, Labour Departments, Pollution Control Boards, and other authorities.

  • Licences, Approvals & Renewals: Manage end-to-end statutory licences and permissions across plants and business units, ensuring zero lapses.

  • Internal Compliance Audits: Drive periodic audits, evaluate gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions across different verticals.

  • Vertical-Level Coordination: Work closely with business teams across manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, ports, mining, and other sectors to build tailored compliance frameworks.

  • Advisory Support: Guide internal teams on compliance requirements for ongoing operations, new projects, plant expansions, and industry-specific obligations.

  • Notices, Audits & Inspections: Lead responses to regulatory notices, queries, and show-cause communications; act as the primary point of contact during audits and inspections.

  • Risk Management & Controls: Identify compliance risks, recommend mitigation plans, and develop robust SOPs, policies, and monitoring mechanisms.

  • Leadership Reporting: Prepare dashboards, status reports, and updates highlighting critical risks, deadlines, and regulatory changes.


Qualification



  • Qualified Company Secretary (CS) – Mandatory

  • 12–17 years of strong statutory and regulatory compliance experience

  • Background in large conglomerates/manufacturing / multi-vertical organisations preferred

  • Solid understanding of company law, labour laws, industrial regulations, environmental statutes, safety norms, and plant-level compliance

  • Strong coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently and own the full compliance lifecycle in a fast-paced environment
