# Strategic Sourcing Manager \u2013 Capital Projects \u0026 Facilities\n\n## Role Summary\n\nThe Strategic Sourcing Manager \u2013 Capital Projects \u0026 Facilities is an individual\u2011contributor role responsible for executing sourcing activities, supporting category management, and managing supplier performance for capital\u2011project\u2013related scopes. This includes construction, facilities upgrades, clean rooms, labs, MEP/utilities, and tool\u2011install\u2013enabling work.\n\nThe role ensures disciplined sourcing execution, commercial rigor, and alignment with project schedules across multiple sites. As a B4 IC role positioned in the lower third of the band, it provides clear development runway into broader category ownership and advanced strategic responsibility.\n\n## General Duties\n\n * Execute sourcing and commercial activities for Capital Projects and Facilities categories in alignment with Applied Materials\u2019 procurement processes.\n * Develop RFx packages, run competitive events, manage supplier communications, and perform bid leveling.\n * Support capital\u2011project teams with cost analysis, sourcing schedules, supplier qualification, and contract documentation.\n * Maintain contract files, pricing records, supplier documentation, and audit\u2011ready sourcing files.\n * Track supplier performance metrics (cost, schedule adherence, quality, safety) and support corrective\u2011action plans.\n * Prepare dashboards, spend analyses, and sourcing reports for category leaders and stakeholders.\n * Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policy, internal controls, and commercial governance standards.\n\n\n\n## Category Strategy Support\n\n * Contribute to multi\u2011year strategies across construction, MEP/utilities, clean room, lab, and other capital\u2011project\u2011related categories.\n * Conduct supplier, market, and cost research to inform category strategies and sourcing levers.\n * Track market intelligence, including labor availability, commodity pricing, contractor capacity, and regional constraints.\n * Support segmentation and supplier\u2011positioning analyses.\n\n\n\n## Supplier Portfolio \u0026 Performance Management\n\n * Support supplier qualification, capability assessments, and ongoing documentation.\n * Maintain scorecards, monitor KPIs, track performance trends, and escalate concerns as needed.\n * Assist with long\u2011term commercial frameworks, rate\u2011card structures, and service\u2011level models.\n\n\n\n## Sourcing \u0026 Contracting Execution\n\n * Develop RFQs/RFPs, SOWs, commercial evaluation criteria, and bid packages.\n * Lead bid events, analyze cost breakdowns, and prepare award recommendations with clear commercial rationale.\n * Support contract creation and updates\u2014including change orders, milestone structures, and commercial terms.\n * Coordinate with Legal, Project Controls, and site teams to ensure contract alignment and risk mitigation.\n\n\n\n## Value Delivery \u0026 Financial Analysis\n\n * Deliver savings, cost\u2011avoidance, and competitive results through negotiation and strategic sourcing.\n * Maintain cost models, benchmarking data, and supplier\u2011productivity trackers.\n * Analyze project budgets, cost drivers, and forecast impacts in partnership with Finance.\n * Identify opportunities for value engineering (VE/VA) and commercial optimization.\n\n\n\n## Project \u0026 Operational Support\n\n * Engage early with Capital Projects PMs to align sourcing plans with project schedules and design milestones.\n * Support bid timelines, contracting sequences, and supplier readiness for key construction and tool\u2011install activities.\n * Track project\u2011specific procurement risks and escalate with supporting analysis.\n * Participate in design reviews, planning sessions, and cross\u2011functional coordination meetings.\n\n\n\n## Governance, Compliance \u0026 Standardization\n\n * Enforce consistent sourcing, contracting, and documentation standards across sites and project teams.\n * Maintain templates, approval checklists, supplier documentation, and sourcing records.\n * Support harmonization of capital\u2011project sourcing processes under a unified \u201cOne Applied\u201d operating model.\n\n\n\n## Cross\u2011Functional Collaboration\n\n * Partner closely with Capital Projects, Facilities, Engineering, Corporate Real Estate, Factory Operations, EH\u0026S, and Finance.\n * Provide sourcing guidance to project managers, engineers, and site leaders.\n * Represent sourcing in cross\u2011functional reviews, kickoff meetings, and project alignment discussions.\n\n\n\n## Required Qualifications\n\n * 7+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, ideally within capital projects, construction, facilities, engineering services, or related technical categories.\n * Strong proficiency in RFx execution, bid analysis, commercial negotiation, and contract administration.\n * Experience supporting category strategies or supplier segmentation.\n * Solid understanding of cost drivers in construction and technical services.\n * Ability to manage multiple sourcing events across overlapping schedules and sites.\n * Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder\u2011management skills.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n7 -
