Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Supervisor – Steel Yard to oversee daily operations within our IT Services sector, focusing on the efficient management of steel inventory and material logistics. This pivotal role ensures the accurate tracking of stock levels, facilitates smooth material flow, and leads a team in maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in steel yard management to optimize material utilization, minimize wastage, and support broader engineering and fabrication initiatives through precise inventory control.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end stock reconciliation processes, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols to ensure material freshness and accuracy.
Oversee the complete cycle of material inward and outward movements, verifying documentation against physical stock.
Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel functions to maintain up-to-date inventory records and generate detailed reports.
Direct material handling operations and supervise team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Apply specialized knowledge of fabrication and heavy engineering store environments to manage specific steel requirements.
Implement strategies for steel raw material handling and overall steel yard management to streamline workflow.
Monitor inventory levels of steel products and enforce strict controls on material utilization to reduce waste and control costs.

Requirements

Requirements:

Proven work experience of 3 to 5 years in a supervisory capacity within steel yard or heavy engineering stores.
Demonstrated proficiency in FIFO methods, stock reconciliation, and material documentation.
Strong technical skills in ERP software, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management systems.
Extensive background in material handling, team leadership, and steel raw material logistics.
Specific experience in fabrication, heavy engineering, or steel industry store operations is essential.
Ability to manage inventory for steel materials with a focus on utilization efficiency and wastage reduction.
Competitive salary range of ₹3-4 LPA for the right candidate.
