• Job purpose

  To assure the delivery of conforming product from external suppliers through collaboration, audit, communication of requirements and expectations, development and monitoring.

  Principal accountabilities

• Working to the JM Processes for Supplier Management.
• Being the quality point of contact with selected suppliers.
• Monitor and analyse key incoming material characteristics, their packing standards.
• Conducting quality audits on supplier sites, following up corrective actions and to carrying out supplier development process to ensure compliance with JM quality requirements.
• Supporting MOC process related to any Raw material grade/supplier/Location related change
• Supporting the effective SCN process, which includes timely raising the issue at supplier end and coordination of effective implementation of corrective actions,
• Approving PSW so that supplied product is released for use.
• Periodically getting from suppliers’ information about certificates, personnel coordinates, etc. in order to keep supplier database constantly updated.
• Provide Monthly evaluation of supplier as per global SMS protocol.
• Periodically monitoring supplier performances in order to highlight suppliers that need to be audited and developed.
• To maintain list of approved suppliers/approved specification data base, and relevant updates based on working with supplier.
• To maintain list of shelf life of all applicable raw materials for the plant and it’s control verification in the system.
• Root cause analysis and investigation at supplier end in case of critical supplier Quality/Delivery related concerns.
• Support site during IATF/OEM/internal audits for all supplier related information for the plants.
• Support the centralised team in case of any new supplier development.

Scope

Working Relationships

• Regional and plant Supplier Quality and Quality Dept.
• In regular contact with Suppliers to JM.
• Close working with the plant functions.
• In regular contact with Technology Dept.

Decision Making

• Will take decisions and make recommendations appropriate on the nomination and development or exit of suppliers.
• Will make decision on the level of conformance of supplier operations to the JM requirements
• Accessing the supplier during auditing, decision making on supplier’s actions (asking support to Technology if needed)

Impact

• The role operates at the plant and the global level and decisions can and will impact the quality performance of JM suppliers

Special factors

This role will be stationed in Bawal plant and will required the travel to various overseas suppliers based on the requirements, which includes travel of long hours as well, based on JM travel policy facilitation.

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience

• Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Automotive specialization - Essential
• Significant experience in a technical, automotive or chemical manufacturing environment, in Quality and System Related Environment - Essential
• Computer literate including use SharePoint - Essential
• Working knowledge of basic statistics - Essential
• Use of statistical software packages such as Minitab. - Desirable
• Expert in Quality Systems ISO9001 - Essential
• Expert in Quality Systems IATF16949 - Essential
• Minimum internal Auditor Qualification for ISO9001/IATF 16949 standards - Desirable
• Experience gained from dealing with Suppliers and supplier audit in large multinational companies - Essential
