The Managing Director of Supply Chain Finance Technology is responsible for driving the development of Citi’s Supply Chain Finance platform, supporting a product where Citi is a dominant industry leader.  This role will be responsible for partnering with the business to develop a strategy to maintain market share lead over competitors and expand product offering.  Team is currently starting to build its next-generation platform, and needs a strong hands-on technology leader to drive the strategic architecture and build on the strong engineering culture of the current team.

This role will need to work closely with the business to drive product capabilities and client experience while addressing technical debt, managing risk and control demands, and maintaining high security.  This will require strong portfolio management and efficient delivery to maximize value from business investment.

Responsibilities:

The role will include, but not limited to the following:

• Partner closely with Supply Chain Finance senior management to develop the vision for the next generation Supply Chain Finance solution and develop a practical plan for progressing the vision within budget constraints.
• Evaluate the current limitations of the legacy platform and layout a plan to remediate through the strategic platform.
• Meet with clients to better understand their needs and deliver solutions that add business value for them.
• Track the product offering of competitors and related supply chain products to ensure market competitiveness of Citi solutions.
• Drive scalable, highly automated solutions that deliver straight-through processing and a strong operational experience.
• Utilize standard bank capabilities to speed the time to market and cost-effectiveness of the solution.
• Define and manage delivery scope, including all dependencies. Negotiate benefits, timelines, and costs with key stakeholders.  Manage stakeholder communication and engagement.
• Manage a cross-functional technology delivery team to deliver new and enhanced capabilities in the supply chain finance space.
• Embrace Agile techniques and scale to driver efficiency and flexibility for technical delivery. Mature the agile delivery model of the team.
• Driving a hands-on engineering culture for the onboarding team, adopting modern tools, practices, and technology.
• Ensure scalable and robust architecture for all new solutions.
• Constantly innovate and identify new opportunities to use technology to solve the needs of the bank, our customers, and our partners.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years in hands-on technology leadership roles.  CTO-type experience is preferred. Fintech or Supply Chain related firms is a plus.
• Experience managing global, cross-functional, agile technology teams of 100 – 150+ people.
• Hands-on Technology leader capable of strategic solutioning, hands-on development, and assessment of code quality.
• Experience with agile delivery, modern development practices (Dev/Ops, Dora, Microservices, and API’s), and Cloud Technology
• History of delivering large complex systems in a distributed environment using modern delivery techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, and/or trade and logistics is a plus.
