Job Title: Sustenance Engineer

Location: Remote  
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)  
Notice Period: Immediate to 15 days  
Budget: ₹1.8 Lakh per month  
Experience: 5+ years  

About the Role  
We’re seeking an experienced Sustenance Engineer to support and enhance our live production systems. You’ll work closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain critical applications in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities  
• Provide Level-2/Level-3 support for production applications and services  
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes  
• Optimize application performance and stability through monitoring and tuning  
• Manage patching, upgrades, and configuration changes in live environments  
• Collaborate with development teams to replicate and debug issues in lower environments  
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles  
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support coverage  
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation  

Required Qualifications  
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field  
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting production applications  
• Strong troubleshooting skills with familiarity across the full stack (OS, middleware, databases, application code)  
• Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Datadog, Splunk) and incident management platforms  
• Experience with scripting/automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell)  
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote working environment  

Nice to Have  
• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed services  
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)  
• Certifications such as ITIL, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent  
• Familiarity with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
