The System Administrator cum IT Stores Assistant is responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and managing the IT inventory and stores. The role involves ensuring smooth functioning of computer systems, networks, and IT equipment while maintaining accurate records of IT assets and stock.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and applications.
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, Wi -Fi, and internet connectivity.
• Perform routine system updates, backups, and security checks.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Provide technical support to employees for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Maintain antivirus protection and system security policies.
• Coordinate with external vendors for IT service and maintenance.
IT Stores Management
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment such as computers, laptops, printers, accessories, cables, and peripherals.
• Record and track IT asset allocation to employees and departments.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
• Maintain proper documentation for IT purchases, warranties, and AMC records.
• Coordinate procurement of IT hardware and accessories when required.
• Handle issuing and receiving of IT equipment from stores.
• Maintain IT asset register and stock records.
Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain IT asset management records.
• Prepare reports related to IT inventory and system status.
• Maintain service logs and issue tracking records.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies.
Network & Server Management
• Install, configure, and maintain network servers and ISP infrastructure systems.
• Manage authentication servers such as RADIUS.
• Monitor bandwidth usage, uptime, and network performance.
• Maintain servers used for billing systems, CRM, and monitoring tools.
Network Monitoring
• Monitor ISP network devices using tools like Zabbix, Nagios, or PRTG Network Monitor.
• Detects outages, latency issues, or packet loss.
• Coordinate with NOC teams to resolve network issues.
User & Access Management
• Manage admin access to routers, switches, and servers.
• Maintain secure login credentials and role -based access.
• Control access to network devices and ISP management systems.
Security Management
• Configure firewall rules and protect ISP systems from cyber threats.
• Maintain logs for network access and server activities.
• Apply system patches and security updates.
IT Stores & Asset Management
Maintain inventory for:
• Core routers
• Distribution switches
• OLT devices for fiber networks
• ONU/ONT customer devices
• Fiber splicing tools and accessories.
• SFP modules and patch cords
Track equipment from vendors such as:
• Cisco
• MikroTik
• Ubiquiti
• Huawei
• ZTE
Stock Management
• Maintain stock of fiber cables, connectors, media converters, routers, and switches.
• Track minimum stock levels for field installation teams.
• Monitor spare devices for quick replacement during outages.
Asset Tagging & Tracking
• Assign asset tags to all network equipment.
• Maintain details like MAC address, serial number, IP address, and installation location.
• Track equipment deployed at towers, POPs, and customer premises.
Equipment Issue & Return
• Issue routers, ONUs, and networking equipment to installation teams.
• Maintain records of equipment issued to field engineers.
• Track damaged or returned devices for repair or replacement.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
• Raise purchase requests for networking hardware and IT equipment.
• Coordinate with telecom vendors and suppliers.
• Evaluate quotations and technical specifications.
• Track warranty and AMC contracts for networking devices.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain IT asset register and network equipment database.
• Prepare reports on:

• Maintain documentation for POP installations and network diagrams.
Support for Field & NOC Teams
• Provide hardware and tools required for fiber installation and network expansion.
