Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – US Mortgage Underwriting to manage a team of underwriters/SMEs and ensure smooth day-to-day operations, quality delivery, productivity and adherence to US mortgage guidelines.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: Live Underwriting, Quality Management (QM) or Post Closing, along with prior experience handling a team.

Key Responsibilities

  Lead and manage a team of US Mortgage Underwriters/SMEs.

  Monitor daily productivity, quality, TAT and SLA adherence.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide guidance, coaching and process support to team members.

  
  


• 
  

  Handle escalations and resolve complex underwriting-related queries.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with US mortgage guidelines, client requirements and process standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct quality reviews, identify errors and drive corrective actions.

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders for operational requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Drive team performance, process improvements and continuous learning.

  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  

  Minimum 5+ years of experience in US Mortgage Underwriting.

  
  


• 
  

  1–2 years of experience working as a Team Lead.

  
  


•

Candidate Profile

  Should have progressed from an Underwriter/SME role into a Team Lead position.
