Team Manager - Digitalization



Location: Bangalore



Job Type: Full-Time


We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Team Manager to lead our digital product teams in India, contributing to Epiroc's global digitalization initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to inspire and empower highly skilled teams.


 


About the Role


As a Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in building and leading cross-functional Agile teams, fostering ownership, accountability, and a culture of continuous learning. You will act as a servant leader, championing Agile delivery excellence while facilitating collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders globally. Your leadership will enable teams to deliver predictable, high-quality digital solutions aligned with Epiroc’s strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities



  • People Leadership & Team Development: Build, scale and mentor high-performing software engineering teams. Foster a culture characterized by accountability, collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous learning. Champion career development, mentoring, and succession planning. Create a strong team identity aligned with Epiroc’s values.

  • Agile Delivery Leadership: Guide teams using Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices. Ensure effective sprint planning, backlog refinement, and incremental value delivery. Promote self-organizing, outcome-focused teams and engineering best practices including quality assurance, CI/CD pipelines, and automation through influence.

  • Coaching & Impediment Removal: Serve as a supportive coach and servant leader. Proactively identify and eliminate delivery blockers, manage cross-team dependencies, and reduce organizational friction. Facilitate alignment and decision-making with stakeholders while supporting teams in managing ambiguity and prioritization.

  • Product & Delivery Alignment: Collaborate closely with global Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business goals into actionable product backlogs and delivery outcomes. Guide prioritization and trade-offs to maximize business value, ensuring continuous alignment with product roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

  • Technical Leadership: Bring strong technical insight to challenge assumptions, guide solution directions, and support architectural discussions. Act as a bridge between business and engineering, empowering teams to independently make sound technical decisions. Drive technical excellence and efficiency by incorporating emerging technologies like AI into the software development lifecycle.

  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary delivery owner for assigned teams. Build robust relationships with global stakeholders, providing clear progress updates, risk visibility, and data-driven insights to align expectations across distributed teams.

  • Project Management: Oversee budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines, ensuring delivery commitments are met with excellence.

  • Innovation Enablement: Foster an environment that encourages creativity and innovative thinking to develop cutting-edge digital solutions.


Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in software engineering, product management, or delivery roles.

  • Proven leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Delivery Manager, Agile Lead, or Senior Technical Lead transitioning into leadership.

  • Strong proficiency with Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively without direct hands-on responsibilities.

  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Technical expertise in IoT technologies, including architectures, protocols (AMQP, MQTT), and cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).

  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, .NET, React, Python, or Java.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Industry experience in mining, construction, or similar heavy industry sectors.

  • Experience collaborating with global product organizations.

  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Program Consultant.
